Before the setting sun, off the beaten path, the woodlands open up to this picturesque scene. I can do nothing more than point my camera in a salute to their pause in the cool pure stream.

They do look like bison. If you look closer, there is one cow who seems to stare back in my direction, right behind her is a set of horns belonging to a Bull Elk.
I thought u was either Canadian or American, there is only one place that I know where bison Rome free and that's in canada , I think I think Iv been watching to much of "Ray mears in the wilderness " but a lovely picture and ur so lucky to be living in such a beautifull country :)
