I Spent Some Time in the Tree Stand Today

I saw a few deer and a pack of dogs. That's about it. I'm not a hunter. I just enjoy the solitude in nature, and watching the wildlife go about their day. I'm going to get a decent camera soon. I strapped myself to the tree with my harness today, as I have a tendency to fall asleep in the tree stand. Although I'm not a hunter, I certainly have a firearm with me. I'm fairly safe in the tree, but it's the walk there and back that can be dangerous at times. It never hurts to be prepared. Anyhow, it was a beautiful day with cool weather, and I saw a buck with a very large rack. I hope he survives hunting season.

I watched 2 deer walk right under my window about 3 hours ago I live on the third floor.
Been hunting a few times last week and didn’t see anything 😂 the ones I saw was Does and we can’t shoot them anyway.

@Repete That's odd. Killing does is encouraged where I live, as we have a huge problem with trophy hunters. The buck-doe ratio is far from balanced.

We have way to many Does around here and they are beginning to open up seasons to shooting Does but only in certain areas. It’s a shame to see how many gets hit by cars and left on the side of the road . @UnstableDiffusion

@Repete Unfortunately, a lot of them are shot, then dumped on the roadside. They take the antlers or head, then toss the rest. I hate seeing it.

Here it’s mostly Does but it is even worse if the only reason you shoot a deer is for the antlers. I don’t believe in shooting any animal just for sport .@UnstableDiffusion
