Do you know what this is? It's 12pds and nothing but cubical formations. It's almost black. I chipped some off and underneath the dullness it shines.

@ShadowWorker lead sulfide. Almost always found with fluorite here in the US. Lots of Calcite and Sphalerite often as well

@ShadowWorker look closely at the way it breaks. Flat surfaces on fresh broken areas. Lots of smaller flat cubic missing spots on the crystals as well as raised cubic spots and sometimes octahedral shapes like penetrating the crystals

@icedsky thanks again. Years ago the Ohio river was really low. I was walking it and found a whole petrified small tree. Limbs and trunk. I still have some large pieces of it.
Petrified wood is my favorite.
