Life is good

Lots of things in life feel really difficult right now. But you know what's not difficult? I bought two kayaks on Sunday. I finally got to use them last night. I took my 12-year-old out, and she and I had a blast. Best purchase ever.

I forgot to take a picture. But here is a stock photo of a kayak...

Nice! Glad you had a good time together :)

I love kayaking too. I have fond memories of kayaking with friends and my husband. We also discovered one year that we like paddle boarding and bought two and use them often.

@Scribbles Husband? I feel like I completely missed the bit when the boyfriend became the husband. I probably knew. But I feel like this is new information.

My back is totally sore today from kayaking two days in a row. Paddle boarding, on the other hand, I'm good for about five minutes, and then I get totally and completely bored lol. I'm not sure what the difference is. But they are night-and-day for me.

@ShadowSister Being married is a very new thing. Not sure if it ever came up in conversation though. We literally just finished a short honeymoon last sunday:)

Bored? I can't even imagine. To me they are both so similar. But a SUP represents idk,more freedom in the water to me, I guess. One of my favorite things is going out on the water early Saturday morning for a few hours.

Also almost everyone who has every kayaked with me always complains that I go too fast, so paddle boarding works out well. I'm a little slower and more relaxed. I also like how SUP handles and the versatility and portability of it...(I hate hauling a kayak if I don't need to) and I find it easier to climb back on a SUP then a kayak if I want to jump in the water for a swim (Which I like to do often-if I see something interesting). I also like picnicing on a SUP better then a kayak even if the risk of losing something overboard is greater. It's just more fun.Lol. On our last long trip paddleboarding, our backs got a bit sore. So we've been practicing bungee cord tying a small fold out beach chair to bring along and if we want to sit we can just get it out and center it on the board and sit down if we want. I practiced tying an umbrella as well to the chair for shade. Lol. We also want to practice fishing from our boards this summer too.

@Scribbles So first off, CONGRATULATIONS!!! So it IS new information. I'm so happy for you!!!

What you're talking about and what I'm talking about sounds very different. So I googled it. Ohhhh, I mean a paddle boat, not a paddle board. The kind I'm thinking of are the ones you have to pedal with your feet like a bike. Veeeeeery different things. I don't know the first thing about a paddle board other than that they look fun. And I expect you get a lot more wet.

@ShadowSisterThank you☺️
Oh! that makes sense. Paddleboats are boring. I agree.
