@Stopmakingsense here in the south we're supposed to bang our shoes before putting them on in order to check for scorpions

@EuphoricTurtle in "True Grit" John Wayne puts on his boot, and finds a rattle snake in it. So he dumps it out, then puts on the other boot without checking for snakes. True Grit.
