Fortunately I live far enough away to avoid all the flatlanders that flock here, most of the time. But, that is the closest place to get sushi:)

@Carla We make quite a few trips up there in the summer. We like to hike around Sleeping Bear Dunes. It's so beautiful. We venture to Traverse City for dinner. Not big on sushi though...

Have you spent any time in beaulah? It is a quaint little place.
If you live in isabella,then this area is close enough for a day trip.

@Carla We've rode the bike trail in Beulah to Frankfort a few times. I love those towns. They are so quaint! We like to get ice-cream at Tiffany's Cafe in Empire. You definitely are lucky to live in such a pretty area! There's beauty in all of Michigan, but that area is probably my favorite - even moreso than the UP. We also like the east side of the state. Presque Isle is another favorite.

@MissSimpleMind it is beautiful. I'm not fond of the long winters though. And a bit more sunshine wouldnt hurt, even if it's a frigid sunny day:)
