You leave Maggie alone ..

peterlee · M
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout Starmer represents our National pride now…… at least for the next few days🤣
@peterlee lolz days.. he’s holding on like a autistic kid clutching a glass pet

What do the sheep think? There must be a referendum of the majority population.
peterlee · M
@FreddieUK Can we afford to defend it?
Our priority must surely be against Putin.

Also it has connotations with Andrew, formally known as Prince.

The UK had a referendum to leave the EU. See what damage that did.
FreddieUK · 70-79, M
@peterlee All good points. I think the problem we are lumbered with from our colonial past is that we told the Falkland islanders that they would be British until they decided they wanted something else. It does give us a presence down there and perhaps as importantly, deprives others.
peterlee · M
@FreddieUK True. China will continually show an increasing influence in South America.now that Brazil is a BRICS Nation. But as we know China works slowly, like an increasing juggernaut.

Nor, must we forget the British Troops, who fought bravely, and some bare the scars today.

The Islanders of course, could be repatriated , probably in Scotland. Their ancestry is there.

Now that Argentina's got its own Thatcher no less lol

TexChik · F
The UK is no longer a force in the world. They don't even have a functioning warship, the fuel to send it to the area, or the spine to use it.

Argentina does, and when they realize the UK Is unable to stop them and the US will not get involved...that's all she wrote.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@TexChik Is your anti-British feeling common in the USA or shared only by President Trump's most fervent supporters?

He does seem anti-anyone East of New York, apart from Presidents Putin and Netanyahu.
TexChik · F
@ArishMell The brits have their with deal with Iran, but will have to pay their own way now.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@TexChik Bit rich, sneering like that from a country whose President attacked Iran with no clear purpose nor any consultation with any allies or the UN.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
No. How would that be a "gesture of peace"?

It might make Donald Trump and the Argentinians happy but would amount to using people as pawns in mere gestures that would acheive nothing at all useful.

Also of course, it should be a matter for the Falklanders.
peterlee · M
@ArishMell Yes, I’m throwing up a few ideas here. Nothing too serious.

I don’t think this lady releases how much long term damage has been done between America and rest of the world.

In my more frivolous mode, I thought, what a lovely place for Meghan and Harry to live. Uniting Britain with America. They could even reign over a Royal Kingdom.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@peterlee America has always tried to be Top Dog, but is now becoming more aggressively so, perhaps in responce to China's growing power.

'Im and 'Er ruling the Falkland Islands. Oh dear - what have the residents to deserve that?
peterlee · M
@ArishMell it’s one blessing we can be eternally grateful for, having Harry in America. Please keep him..
