I Want World Peace

2 soldiers next to my home are stopping a young Palestinian. Since last week, according to the new orders, they can do research on the body of any Palestinians on the street.
They check his papers (all is kosher), checking his pockets (kosher). They turn him over, speak with him in orders, harsh voice. They check his body in the middle of the street. They don't take him to the side to reduce his shame, not apologize for the actions. People drive next to and stop to watch, people on the street stop. they are coming close to watch, but not too close in a case he will run to stab them. I walk and want to record to take pictures, to show YOU the world how horrible is the situation, but I don't want to shame him even more.

If this is the price, I prefer (as Yakir only, not for all Israelis) to be stabbed and not to live with safety. Yes, I mean it. Yes, there is limit to the price I agree to pay for security, since my security is murdering the dignity of other humans. As I don't want Jewish citizens to carry guns since as we saw this week, Jews not "only" kill Palestinians but also Jews when they have weapon, I don't want soldiers to start checking the bodies of Palestinians in Jerusalem. Sorry, it is their city as it is mine, each step of it.
Maybe all of these events will melt our heart of stone and will make us to start crying, on ourselves, on what we are doing for almost 50 years of occupation to the Palestinians. You don't trust them? you don't think that God brought us back here to live WITH Palestinians (as Rabbi Kuk said) -- give them their country back, each inch of that. You don't want to leave? speak with them, give them at least the 67 boarders. You don't want to work for peace with them? go to Canada, lets create there our Jewish state. Enough, Halas. Yes, some things are so simple.
And what I did? I kept walking to my next meeting, "to do peace" (big ironic). yes, I am not better than anyone else.
