It’s not that today I feel particularly sad or miss her more than I do on other days, it’s just simply a reminder of things I don’t get to celebrate.
What is hard is I don’t remember ever celebrating her birthday. I obviously did when I was little, and I have been told stories about presents I made or cards I wrote, breakfasts in bed and family celebrations. The older I get the more my memories fade and that is the hardest reality. I’m slowly forgetting all of it, all the laughs and fun times we had. I was simply too young when I had to say goodbye.

I am so sorry Soph. It’s actually my moms birthday today too. My mom forgets more everyday with early onset dementia.
You will never forget how much you loved her and she loved you. Happy Birthday to your mom 💖. I know that she would be very proud of the woman you are today 💖.
