I Am American

I've never understood this, but why is the US compared to smaller countries such as Norway, Finland, Germany, Japan or the U.K. in terms of education, crime rate, Health, etc.? Wouldn't it be more accurate to just compare the US to larger nations such as Russia, Canada, China, Australia and India?

In terms of the 3 issues you've listed here, size is irrelevant, in my opinion.

But there [b]are [/b]times size matters. I've had Europeans laugh that I haven't seen all of the US when they've been to several different countries. They seem clueless that the US is roughly the size of Europe.
