I Am American

I've never understood this, but why is the US compared to smaller countries such as Norway, Finland, Germany, Japan or the U.K. in terms of education, crime rate, Health, etc.? Wouldn't it be more accurate to just compare the US to larger nations such as Russia, Canada, China, Australia and India?

Size has no bearing on health or education. Either a society is healthy, or it isnt. Were you to start nitpicking, you couldnt compare any country to any country, because they all have differences.

But, out of curiosity, why do you think so?
