They are not as bad as the Taliban, but I can see why you would draw a parallel in that they are very much about suppressing women and anyone who doesn't conform to their particular ideology. Most mainstream Christians would disavoe them as having anything to do with what they believe themselves
Extremism has many forms. The only commonality is they are all extreme.

@JonLosAngeles66 Thank you for the BC.

So far they don't stone people in the streets
That's the thing about giving people the ability to speak out.
You may not want to hear what they have to say.
You just have to make sure their power and ability to affect others is limited
That means legal action and ballots.

More lives have been shed over several millennia over religious beliefs than any other cause.
The US Constitution's first amendment was supposed to protect us from religious zealots trying to get the government to establish a national legion. Now we have the far right saying they have the right to force their beliefs on the rest of us!

Yes, for all practical purposes. They hate the same things and people, want to take away the same human civil rights.

There is no actual group called Christian nationalist
JonLosAngeles66 · M
@dale74 true. That's one positive difference. Though it is a shared ideal across evangelical leaning right wingers.
