It's about American society at large, particularly during the Gen Z era, and the environment I grew up in. You may have had a different experience. When I was growing up, I believe kids my age in a typical American high school were quite promiscuous. It could be that I'm simply encountering the wrong people, or it might be influenced by the region where I live.
