Maximum profit, the doctrine of American capitalism, has made homes unaffordable for many Americans

Question: why do we even need real estate agents? I'm sure 100 years ago, you could build your own house or just go directly to the sellers. Somehow these people have created a trillion dollar industry, in the name of maximum profit capitalism, for something that isn't even needed. 6% commission? That's $30,000 on $500,000.

Kudos to the real estate agents who are making big money.... But some industries are just really worthless. That's why American capitalism is failing.
