They have all pled guilty.

But what about the neighbor who called the police in the first place, reporting "suspicious activity."

There have been way too many instances of someone concluding that seeing a black man where they did not expect to see a black man constitutes "suspicious activity."

Filing a false police report is a crime, but I wonder if this person will ever be charged.

@DrWatson I don't think a police report was filed at all. The neighbor is probably a buddy of the guys in the "goon squad" and didn't like what was going on next door.
@DrWatson A few people have gotten in trouble for basically weaponizing the police. But much of it depends on what the police do. I think I told you about my middle sister accidentally locking herself out of the house she and her husband own. A new neighbor saw her sitting on her own front steps and called the police.

Sis had left her purse inside when the door slammed shut, and so had no ID. The police were going to take her away, but another neighbor who knew her, ran out in her housecoat demanding to know what the police were doing. She had no id, either, but on her word that my sister lived at the house, the police let my sister go. She went inside with that neighbor and waited there until her husband got home.

Sis was really shaken by the fact that even as a professional woman and homeowner, even though she’d done nothing wrong, she would’ve been taken into custody on one white stranger’s say so, had a white friend not vouched for her.
This was in 2016, not that long ago.
