Are drive thrus just an American thing or do other countries have them too? Idk it just seems like an American thing to me

I think it was mainly American but has now spread out.

We didn't have em in the UK when I was your age but they are a "thing" now.
They recently became a thing here in Egypt. 5 years ago they didn't exist here.

They have become common in the UK too, but only thanks to their American companies' expansionism.

They even sign them as Drive-thru: the English abbreviation for through is thru', not thru.

Nah, we have them in South Africa too.
McDonald's started it a few years ago.
