Oh, by the way, I forgot to mention, the "American Dream" is based on the freedoms in the USA to build the life that you want. The "American Dream" isn't handed to you, you have to pursue it,

What have you done so far to reach a goal? If you haven't, it's not to late to start!!

My true career started at 36. Bought my first house at 37. Met the love of my life at 41 and married him at 43.

There is no timeline for events in life and no specific criteria to be met.

I'm sorry to hear that you're feeling stuck and discouraged. It can be overwhelming to feel like your dreams are out of reach, but it's important to remember that your current circumstances don't necessarily determine your future. There are always options and opportunities available, even if they may not be immediately apparent.

One thing you could try is breaking down your goals into smaller, more achievable steps. For example, if buying a house seems impossible right now, perhaps focus on saving up for a down payment or improving your credit score. If finding a career feels daunting, start by exploring your interests and looking for entry-level positions in your desired field. And remember, having a loving partner is not the only measure of a fulfilling life. There are many ways to find joy and meaning, even if you're currently single.

Additionally, there are resources available to help you navigate these challenges. Consider reaching out to a career counselor, financial advisor, or therapist to discuss your options and develop a plan for moving forward.

No no young man the dream is not a lie. The left wants you to think it is a lie so you will give up through your hands up and let them control you. If the USA is to remain a power and not come a third world country it depends on you standing up fighting for the dream and not giving in to fear and wokeness.

@houseonfire this place practically is a 3rd world country, no opportunity

The American dream is a lie
or, at least, it certainly is in this economic era.

But most of us can create love with an SO and within a circle of friends and community.

Think outside the box. There are many alternatives that provide challenges and fulfillment.

Successful love is a lifelong process of learning how to become better at communicating and relating. It doesn't require money or material possessions.
It's a free country. You can go somewhere else! No one will stop you.

No one is stuck unless you let yourself to be stuck. I hated education, but I did it to alter my life, loved my career though (27 years in the Army) it was deadly and filled with horrors leaving me with PTSD and surgery scars, but hey I love my pay and benefits and retirement.

Make your life what you want it and do what you have to do to earn it.

Guess that is your choice. Nothing is given to you.
I wouldn't say the American dream is a lie, it's just not easy. There are still opportunities, just requires a lot more initiative and some luck.

@BrewCityBarfly unfortunately luck has never really been on my side it's one of thosewhen it rains it pours
@TempuraShrimp Then you need to make your own luck. That means if you're not in the right place at the right time, put yourself there or at least increase the odds. Opportunities aren't going to contact you randomly, if that makes sense.

I feel you. I am looking at homes in the middle of nowhere because it's my only shot. Career and partner aren't looking to bright for me either...
