Why is a voter ID an issue

Serious question. Why is a voter ID of some sort an issue? I need an ID to board a plane. An ID is required to drive a car, buy beer, leave the country, open a bank account, etc.

I am not supportive of voter suppression. But I do want honest voting without fraudulent voters.

I don’t have issues with voter ID, what I do have issues with is other new laws that were passed. Technically, if you read the fine print closely, the GOP in Georgia can now determine the election results by actions they can take.
