Why is a voter ID an issue

Serious question. Why is a voter ID of some sort an issue? I need an ID to board a plane. An ID is required to drive a car, buy beer, leave the country, open a bank account, etc.

I am not supportive of voter suppression. But I do want honest voting without fraudulent voters.

How did Rump's 86 lawsuits work out for pointing to "fraudulent voters"??? Hard to find a reason to fix a problem even he can't prove exists.....isn't it???

@Coldplay List the proven examples this round of voter suppression laws are being passed to fix. Too much water drinking in voting lines? Too many places for the old, disabled, and non-drivers to be able to cast a ballot? Too many black voters in Georgia so most of them need to be blocked from casting a vote?
