@Strictgram They're guilty of trespassing. The Capitol wasn't open to the public that day. Those police might have been scared of being attacked, or they were Trump fluffers. Plenty of Trump fluffers in federal law enforcement. But those people should, and did, get more lenient sentences than the violent rioters.

@Strictgram So? All that proves is that some Capitol police were Trump fluffers. Or maybe they were afraid of being beaten with flagpoles. We all saw the videos, many of the people in there were peaceful, walking around calmly and taking selfies like they were on a tour or something. They were still trespassing and disrupting an official proceeding. It would be like someone wandering into a bank during a robbery and taking selfies with the robbers.

Anyway, they had their chance in court and if the jury decided they were guilty, that's the breaks. The Jan. 6 rioters are still getting more lenient treatment than the George Floyd rioters on average.

@Strictgram The Proud Boys who got the longer sentences were not only at the scene, they organized the attack among their followers, so of course they got longer sentences. The organizer of an attack doesn't have to be there if they sent their followers, just like a general can draw up a battle plan without riding at the head of his troops. But on average, the people who rioted during the summer of 2020 in protest of George Floyd's murder received harsher sentences than the average Jan. 6 defendant.

@SW-User The Boogerpoo Boys are unusual in that they also hate cops. The other right wing gangs like the Shameful Boys, the Oaf Kreepers, and the Using 3 Percent of their Brainers coordinated with the police who often protected them while they attacked peaceful left wing protesters.
