I've been hearing more about this confederate monument in Virginia and claims that taking it down will remove part of history. I disagree. Taking down some statue is not going to remove anything.

the only way we are going to move forward and get over the past is to except it and by taking down and hiding the bad parts of it instead of making them into learning experiences only hinders our growth the statues that are being taken down need to stay and they need to be labeled for who they were and why it was bad so that we can grow
