You can count on friends……
…..doing one of two things. Either they astound you with how forgetful they are or they just say the wrong thing! It’s humiliating either way and they don’t know but to just laugh it all off.
There are reports this morning that locals have been patrolling the metro and train stations to safeguard women and girls who need to use the systems. I’m protected, since I have a gun license, and I carry it with me everywhere. But it’s frightening that it has come to this!
I’m aware that similar systems in London and in various German and Dutch cities have had their problems with attacks on women and girls, and the picture from Sweden was pretty bleak with migrants actually making bombs to throw at the police. 👮
I don’t know what those in the European government were thinking when they opened the borders and established Schengen but it was to the lasting chagrin of female citizens, and will likely lead to the return in Europe of disturbing reactions. I had hoped after the revelations about the Final Solution, Europe would be a peaceful place with an economic system that would be a transformative step towards a utopian society.
My friends react to any suggestion that some Europe/wide form of fascism would return, but I suggest we are in a similar situation as they were back then when the lights went out!
