Did Europe ever have a significant peace movement?

Is it poor taste to even ask this question when the subcontinent is again enthralled in a unifying war that you all support?

Wasn't post WW2 a big peace movement and tearing down the Berlin Wall

But there's always going to be some small battles

Now if they could just get Russia to stop invading other countries. I think Europe would be pretty good
@sstronaut Russia ain't who REFUSES to negotiate peace. But if you don't want to know, I expect we can welcome endless war to your NATO friends. Lolz!
@Roundandroundwego they're currently occupying another country, so they are refusing peace cuz all they have to do is leave, and they are refusing to do that.
@sstronaut really? You think Russia is occupying Ukraine? Shouldn't the locals vote on that and all the hostilities stop? It's something Russia keeps offering - but the West won't even allow Ukraine to consider...
So when you can't negotiate with anyone in the West you prepare for brutality. Endless hostilities. Nothing new! We're watching you discredit you for good, but we might not survive you.
@Roundandroundwego yes it's pretty obviously it's an occupation.

Voting isn't a free election during an occupation.

All Putin has to do is leave... It's that simple.
@sstronaut that's what you say, but that's not how others see the process. So war will be fine with you, since you have a fictional, fantasy view of the pre conditions and would never allow for a real process? War forever, any exit?
@Roundandroundwego there's nothing fantasy about it

Countries have a right to defend their country.

How is that fantasy or complex?

Russia invaded another country that other countries allowed to defend themselves.

Just like Russia defended themselves when Germany invaded Russia.

Do you wish Russia gave up and submitted to the germans?

Why shouldn't countries try to defend themselves from invasions?
@sstronaut you don't get to say what Putin will do before you'd allow peace processes to begin. But you are talking like the West, there! We don't have a chance for peace. You want war. Oh well!
You will endlessly justify endless aggression. You don't have another plan. That's why we say that the West is the brutal billion and the rest will hope to survive you.
If the West kills us a, too bad.
It's that simple with serial murderers who don't plan to stop. So simple!
@Roundandroundwego you're just putting false words into other people's mouths.

There's a chance for peace as soon as the invading Force gets the hell out of the innocent country.

Just like there was peace after world war II when Russia defeated Germany after Germany invaded them
@sstronaut so NATO isn't far too close to Russia? Most people would start by removing NATO. I see that's never going to happen. Invaders who say it's defense. No peace. We still have your presence - so peace would never occur. Your far from Washington invasion isn't an invasion for you. War would always come from you. Not hoping anymore.v just listening and learning what you intend and seeing what is you.
Peace is more than a break in the hostilities. But that's not something you can admit to understanding.
@Roundandroundwego Finally you show your true colors, this has absolutely nothing to do with peace.

Sweden and Finland had no interest in joining NATO... and NATO had no interest in Ukraine... until Russia invaded... hurting their chances at keeping NATO away.

But all countries including Russia have the right to defend themselves.

NATO is not currently invading anyone. Russia is.
@sstronaut actually, most people see the responsibility to make peace as foremost in importance when it comes to the hostilities in Ukraine. I assume you simply don't have peace as a goal, like most Americans. We cannot explain such things to people living with war as their right. You would never understand how people outside your circle view the choice to war. We will never have peace with you alive.
