Paying back the reparations due in full would bankrupt any country. It just can't be done.
The UK, and other countries who profited from the slave trade should, however, set a precedent and pay a certain amount in reparations each year for the next 100 or even 200 years. How, and who they pay, though, is something I have no clue about.

@SW-User Where would it stop? Next any land that was invaded by the West will want the same, how will life develop? England was very innovative and we would not have railroads to mention a neutral industrial development that could be said to have come about on the backs of slaves and navies?

@DaliaCQ Exactly.
And of course, let's not forget that other historical Empires were built on the backs of slavery. Where will it stop, as you say? It's an impossible situation. I don't know how it can be resolved.

@SW-User Another impossible task governments will waste tax money on in stead of making life better for their citizens and making sure they have the social support of public services.

@SW-User WE paid Slave Owners £20 million in 1833's money to emancipate slaves, a loan we didn't finish off paying until 2015

@BigGuy2 I don't think Arabs existed thousands of years ago, pretty sure it was Babylonians, Summerians, Assyrians, Canaanites, and Phonecians that were in that area

🤔 ... oh right, they just appeared out of thin air did they, or was it from one of Aladdins 3 wishes 🙄🙄🙄
🤔 ... so let's see, thousands of years ago - it's currently 2024, so 2 thousand {or thousands of} years ago would have made it AD24, wouldn't it ... so were Babylonians, Summerians, Assyrians, Canaanites and Phoenicians 'in that area' ... NO, they WEREN'T were they ... were Arabs and Black people there, YES, they were
... and it's safe to say that Arabs probably stemmed from B...S...A...C and P isn't it, as they wouldn't have appeared out of thin air 🙄🙄🙄
{and by the way, it's Phoenicians NOT Phonecians - that's the name of Apples new iphone, nothing else 😏😏😏}
... here's 3 more 🤪🤪🤪

@BigGuy2 do you honestly expect me to remember all the groups the Israelites fought during Biblical times
BigGuy2 · 31-35, M
@uikakarotuevegeta 🤔 ... who's expecting you to remember anything ... 🤷🏼♂🤷🏼♂🤷🏼♂

@BigGuy2 you wrote 1000s now you shift the goalpost to 2000 years ago; i think you really skipped philosophy class (nevermind the fact that Arabs aren't a single monoethnic group, much like how Romans are a mix of many)
BigGuy2 · 31-35, M
@uikakarotuevegeta NOPE ... 2000 is thousands isn't it - PLURAL ... it's YOU that's made the assumption that thousands is more than 2 ...😎😎😎
