5 reasons i love Japan

Literature -- there's a great literary tradition i sense even though just a little has been translated into english, for example the classics, one notable i have is The Tale of Gengi a really long and really old novel. Up to modern authors which i've added in the past to my kindle.

Manga -- could be seen as a part of Literature, this as can be seen from all my recent posts is my current obsession, and i aim to develop an impressive collection.

Anime -- ties in with the above, i have gone back to watching stuff on Crunchyroll, which is the best place to watch anime online, and i have a little DVD/Blu-ray collection also. With anime and manga i am most impressed with the catalog, the extensive variety there is, and the energy.

Film -- Japan's film industry is arguably the best there is globally, from the silent age, to the current age countless masters have emerged to bless cinephiles, and movie lovers in general.

Zen -- this branch of Buddhism is superb, from it we get the popular notion of mindfulness, the world needs such a thing desperately.

Overall however Japan's spirit as it is seen by this westerner is the most unique thing on earth, like certain parts of Scandinavia, there is a wildness, and flamboyant mystique there that is perhaps why it's so attractive to other parts of the world. I also love the huge metropolis of Tokyo, it's thee place i'd like to visit or save up to go to in order to never return.

@Iwillwait Tokyo- in today's globalised world, it really felt like you were in a foreign country.
