🇬🇧 Not much. At the minute anyway.

We have a fine history of historical figures who through their endeavours conquered peaks or travelled to undiscovered places and mapped them.

Unfortunately the Victorian era saw us enslave many and steal artifacts and treasures we had no right to.
That era still holds many painful stories that are the legacy of their descendants so our standing in the world isn't perhaps what it should/could be.

But we do have our success stories too.

Sir Isaac Newton. Formulated the laws of motion and gravity.
Ada Lovelace. Created what is believed to be the first computer algorithm.
Rosalind Franklin. A key researcher into the structure of DNA.
Sir Stephen Hawking. Theoretical Physicist whose work brought together Einstein's Theory of relativity and Quantum Mechanics.
Literature. Britain has produced more 'classic' novels than just about anywhere else. Chaucer; Shakespeare; Dickens; The Bronte sisters; Thomas Hardy; George Orwell; Graham Greene; Beatrix Potter; Roald Dahl; JK Rowling.....
Popular music. Elvis may have created Rock and Roll but the likes of The Beatles; The Who; The rolling stones took it to a whole new level.

All this and i haven't mentioned Mary Seacole; Sir Tim Berners-Lee; Edward Jenner; Isambard Kingdom Brunel; Sir Frank Whittle.....
