Here are my personal stereotypes:
– Europe has much better and healthier food
– American stands for individual and political freedom
– Asians are the most polite people in the known galaxy.

@helenS Quite kind of you to say that about Asians. Beneath what you see though is the value of saving face, conformity to the majority, choosing not to confront…but will be ready to call on the whole clan and the village to exact revenge. Lol

@ScorpioBites Yes maybe it's just a facade, an outward appearance... but I prefer that very much to "honest" rudeness.

@helenS I’ve come to accept that in people too. I was in corporate training. It’s quite possible, to try not to take things personally in the context of customer service. Maybe because our jobs were on the line.
But the “Karen’s” of this world, oh…they are asking for it.
As for SW, the rudeness coming from random users can’t be tolerated.

@helenS America 20+ years ago maybe. There's nothing about that political system defending freedom; it's the very system where the opposition minority can revoke human/civil rights with the majority unable to do anything concrete in response, just by having a tiny majority at the top of the judicial branch (that shouldn't by design even be able to legislate in the first place, at least in functioning democracies). Let alone virtually nonexistent worker rights, or where ~40% of the total pop. main political point is "owning" the remaining 60% (and themselves, in the process).
We have a greater degree of standing up for personal freedoms even here in Italy than they have in the modern U.S.A. if you ask me,

@helenS today's is an anniversary of why Japanese Asians are habitually polite

@SW-User Oppenheimer's Fat Man? 😐

No this is little boy. Fat man was Hiroshima.
Little Boy was actually a much more powerful bomb but the terrain of Nagasaki absorbed most of the blast
