Many of us want better public transit and a cut in our hugely excessive military budget. The problem is corporations and Wall Street have subverted our political system with bribes, i.e. campaign contributions, to our representatives. They play off the Republicans against the Democrats, so both have to take the bribes or be outspent.
The only solution is real campaign finance reform. That must include repealing the disastrous Supreme Court Citizens v Untied decision of 2010, which absurdly made campaign donations a form of freedom of speech.
