He had to prove to men that their was more ocean , belived that the earth was flat , he was right and they were wrong . Even though he did not sail to North America he found South America . It was his faith and dermnation that allowed to do what he did . Those that doubt him were the wealthly and the leaders of the Catholic church .

@SW-User I would call genocide, torture and ethnic cleansing wrong no matter who does it.

Columbus came for gold, that's it. It's nothing to do with a flat earth theory, he thought he was reaching India, hence why Native Americans were referred to as Indians.
