@SethGreene531 It was horrible. And to make it worse when I’d get there, my cousins used to fight over who was hanging out with me first because they couldn’t get along together. My older cousin insisted her and her idea of having fun was handing me a book and reading quietly to our ourselves 😭 I hated it so much.

I did all that stuff with her sister.

She was a meanie and she would be really mean to her sister as a heard. He was forget if I told her something like that. Then she’d really take it out on her. She still acts like she can’t stand her they don’t even live in the same country.

@MellyMel22 Sibling rivalries, they're legendary.
And with some families it carries into adulthood.

Shame; they could've been decent playmates if they had chosen to be considerate and get along.😔

My 2 cousins were the same. Beef from yonger days kept them from speaking.
It took 30 years but they're finally acting their age.

I'm guessing you don't get to see them often anymore?

(I appologize for the delay; I was eating just now and may have cracked a tooth..the pain was unreal.)

@SethGreene531 That is all coming from the older one! When they visit and my mom would say one of you should stay here and one with me- they argue over it like when we were kids and I often get stuck with the meanie 😬 and it feels like my childhood again.

At least they get along! The younger one is a midwife who works with Doctors Without Borders I think it’s called, so she is often out of the country. She just visit more often, though. When she’s home, she’s hours away. Her sister is in Washington state though so she doesn’t come as often.

@MellyMel22 Well, it sounds like they're quite fond of you. Which is flattering, and a little touching.
Their heart is in the right place; they both love you and value your time together.

Doctors Without Borders, amazing organization. They're out there doing beautiful work for the lesser blessed. Your younger cousin's an incredible individual if that's where she devotes her time.

I know a few people working with them and ORBIS eye clinic. Amazing stories.

@MellyMel22 I totally get that. It's totally unfair and uncalled for. Hard to watch.

Certainly she does. It takes a big heart, and even greater measure of courage to process the emotional weight of what she sees.

There's a few missionaries from local churches, who've spent time in India and Africa. Healing, helping and building schools/hospitals.
Another surgeon, minister, and school teacher that have also gone to help.
A guy I went to Sunday School with is a zoologist and guide now in Malawi, Africa.
I admire them greatly, they answered a calling that most of us couldn't.


Well, I hope you guys survived the storm yesterday, and things are back to normal.
I assume everyone spent today digging out.
Some stuff was still closed even this morning.
