Glasser - Apply

Cameron Mesirow (born 1983) known professionally as Glasser, is an American singer, songwriter, and record producer signed to True Panther Sounds. She released her debut EP, Apply, on May 26, 2009,[1] followed by debut studio album Ring on September 24, 2010.[2] Her second studio album, Interiors, was released on October 4, 2013.
Glasser has been compared to Joni Mitchell, Björk and Cocteau Twins

Well I can see why this piqued my interest. I love Cocteau Twins as well as icons like Bjork and Joni Mitchell make for a very interesting sound.

Glasser - Apply (Lemonade remix)

Lemonade was an alternative dance band from San Francisco, California, now residing in Brooklyn, New York. The band's music consists of an eccentric amalgam of electronic, world, and rock music influences, ranging from dubstep to caribbean. The band was formed in 2005 and is made up of vocalist Callan Clendenin, bassist Ben Steidel, and drummer Alex Pasternak. The group gained notoriety after moving to New York and releasing its self-titled debut in 2008, and Pure Moods EP in 2010.[1] Several tracks from each of their releases have also been remixed by well-known artists like Delorean, Gold Panda, and Twin Shadow.

The band formed in 2005, in San Francisco, after the three were booked to play a live show two weeks after forming, having previously written no material. The first set, though mostly improvised, was well received, motivating the band to continue making music.[3] With band members influenced by a variety of musical forms, the band soon found appeal among a diverse array of genres, allowing them to play a wide range of venues throughout the Bay Area, in various settings. Upon moving to Brooklyn, the band found wider success after releasing its debut and playing shows with well-known acts like Delorean and Tanlines. They are scheduled to perform at the American Music Awards of 2014 during the pre-show on November 23, 2014
The band is signed with record label True Panther Sounds and is scheduled to release the follow-up to its debut album on May 29, 2012. The release of the album, Diver, will coincide with North American tour dates opening for Neon Indian throughout the Spring.

Possibly the complete "Dolmen Music" piece, if not the complete Dolmen Music cd (time length seems to match at least the piece when comparing to Discogs) ...

@BlueGreenGrey I agree that with you about Entroducing… it’s really my favorite of his and it was so unique when it came out. I remember a friend who had been into hip hop and electronic music for far longer than I had and was from New Hampshire really expanded my already broadening horizons but we still would find ourselves playing DJ Shadow more often and I liked DJ Cam and Mushroom Jazz and other trip-hop music that was pretty new and new to me. It was a really interesting time for all kinds of new sounds in the mid to late nineties and it’s aged well and still sounds great today. I think that’s a sign of innovation in sounds and music, it really seems timeless compared to what ends up being trends and phases. I heard Josh Davis (DJ Shadow) explain in an interview that he wanted all his albums to be different from each other. He had a vision as an artist who wanted to create something different each time. I was often disappointed when he collaborated with some rappers because he sounded so good as a solo artist or in addition to a DJ contrasting style like Q-Bert. I’ve seen footage of DJ nights with those two and Cut-Chemist and Mixmaster Mike just playing off of each other and their relationship with sounds and their encyclopedic knowledge of records and what might work well with something else is astonishing. It’s that 10K hour rule of putting in the time to become a master craft person and there’s definitely some natural born talent but it’s a lot of dedication to become a world class artist that I truly admire and respect. The people who appreciate this workload like fans in Japan and the UK among other parts of the planet is a mark of quality too. These aficionados often live in cities where they can see almost anything and they can choose from the best it’s pretty impressive that in the case of DJ Shadow he came from the lesser known part of Northern California and yet people in Tokyo and London were some of the first to appreciate what he was doing. Entroducing was made from 2 years (‘94-‘96) of his sets and the sound that he was polishing and honing and making his own. I think I really appreciate the so called “tastemakers” who are responsible for bringing something into the light for a mass appeal (no pun intended).

@BlueGreenGrey PS I’m going to try and find the longer duration tracks and albums for you to enjoy because it’s always nice to find something that is more sustainable than just a brief flash so to speak.
@Badjujubee I think for awhile in the late aughts maybe, I would do things like create DJ Shadow station on Pandora to have it suggest similar artists, or listen to some relevant SomaFM channel (perhaps Groove Salad or Cliqhip IDM or similar), and would discover all kinds of artists that I like, like DJ Spooky, RJD2, Madlib (aka Yesterdays New Quintet), Bonobo, Quantic, DJ Smash, Boom Bip, Cinematic Orchestra, Pete Rock, Amon Tobin, Herbaliser, Mark Farina and more I don't remember at he moment ... and more broadly just anything remotely resembling stuff like ambient hip hop, trip hop, mushroom jazz, acid jazz, shibuya-kei, downtempo (e.g., Thievery Corporation, Zero 7) ... love good, long, instrumental grooves, especially wtih good / funky beats

I've never heard of DJ Cam but I'm sampling some now and I love it, thank you for mentioning!!

So some DJ's would improvise live with each other, like some 1950s bebop jazz players? That sounds pretty cool :)

I appreciate you trying to find longer stuff for me, but please, only when you are feeling well, have the extra time 🤗
