“Do You Know What I Mean” – Lee Michaels

[media=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4WMwenDs5U0]

Hit song written, produced, and recorded by Lee Michaels. It reached #6 on the US singles chart in the summer of 1971. “Do You Know What I Mean” has been described as “an autobiographical homage to the loss of a girlfriend”.

Despite his powerful, soulful voice and his skill as an organist, pianist, and guitarist, Michaels never had another top ten hit; only two other songs recorded by the California native made the charts. By the end of the 1970s, he was semi-retired from the music industry. Michaels later became the successful proprietor of a small seafood restaurant chain.

And today, Lee Michaels turns 76 years old. Happy birthday to Mr. Michaels.

Happy Birthday, Mr Michaels! 🎂💐✨ 🎶

He’s so talented....wow! 💙
@Rutterman Sometimes our destiny leads us to something which we don’t have any idea about...maybe he was destined to be a successful businessman. Can’t fight fate.

I hope he’s happy and content in his life today. 🥰🤗💙

@Vivaci By all accounts, he is very successful with his restaurant business and is content with it.
@Rutterman Then maybe God did this for his own good. Maybe God kept him away from drugs and stuff by giving him failure initially.

That’s a blessing in disguise, darling 💞
