Amazing pieces of classical music - 6

A favourite piece of music for the harp... In 1600, the thirty-year-old Frenchman Antoine Francisque had a unique collection of music for the lute published, "Le trésor d'Orphée, livre de tablature de luth contenant une Susane un jour, plusieurs fantaisies, préludes, passemaises, gaillardes, pavanes d'Angleterre, pavane espagnolle, fin de gaillarde, suittes de bransles tant à cordes avalées qu'austres, voltes & courantes mises", with a dedication to a only twelve-year-old Henri II de Bourbon, Prince de Condé, who was very probably Francisque's student for the lute. Here the French-American harpist Marcel Georges Lucien Grandjany plays the piece 'Pavane et bransles' (literally: propping and shaking) from the same so-called 'Le trésor d'Orphée' by Francisque in an arrangement by Grandjany himself for the harp in a very early performance from 1948 together with the RCA Victor Chamber Orchestra conducted by Jean Paul Morel
