Like you I never heard of this guy and will say it a very emotionally moving cover. I still however feel this to be the most emotional and mind blowing cover, which I'm sure you've heard. I'm going to put your guy 2nd on the list of all the covers.

@Gibbon I've never been a big fan of his version but he does have a powerful voice

@Tumbleweed While to me the Simmon and Garfunkel will always be the best. When I listen to it I feel the intensity of versions such as these in the lyrics was intended. I also find it saddening when the title is searched on YouTube their version isn't at the top.
It's the power and anger in his voice that places this version on top for me and reflects the emotions of the lyrics best.
