“Breezin’” – George Benson

[media=https://youtu.be/G1QjyskJ9jw]

One of the things I appreciate about music is how it can help lift your mood when you’re in a funk. It might not fix whatever got you there in the first place, but it can provide a temporary respite from what ails you.

George Benson’s cover of “Breezin’”, a smooth jazz tune first recorded by Hungarian guitarist Gábor Szabó, is a great piece for getting away from it all in mind and spirit. It has a laid-back, summertime vibe, and when I listen to it, it takes me to a better place, at least for the moment.

@bijouxbroussard I agree, and a lot of other people undoubtedly agree. It went to #1 on the jazz, R&B, and pop album charts. Not sure if anyone else has ever accomplished this.
@Rutterman This was one of my favorites from that album. I actually remember driving with this blasting:

@bijouxbroussard Oh yeah, that's a good one. I enjoyed listening to it again. 😎

I'm glad George Benson is still around and still performing.
@Rutterman Me, too. 😊

@bijouxbroussard I vividly remember the first time I heard this track. I was being introduced to the joys of soul, jazz and jazz-funk by the father of one of my closest friends.

Great, great, great times that I'll always be grateful for.
