This song is still so incredibly relevant. The amazing thing is, when the video first came out, I don’t think I even noticed the late Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes using sign language to translate the lyrics.

I still remember all the lyrics, videos, and choreo from this era. I would obsessively watch MTV total request LIVE and record it on VHS💀. There was a lot of "message" music and "girl power" themes in pop music.
