Paul Simon, "I Know What I Know" (1986)

I loved Simon & Garfunkel, and I’ve enjoyed the solo work of both.
I remember someone once describing Art Garfunkel as "the poet" and Paul Simon as "the storyteller". This is one of Simon’s many songs that illustrates that description, a collaboration with General M.D. Shirinda and the Gaza Sisters.

Paul Simon's work is incredible, both in the band and as a solo artist. I think he's one of the very few artists who made at least ten outstanding songs, many of which are on the old "Simon and Garfunkel Greatest Hits" album.
I don't see Artie as a songwriter at all – he was a fantastic arranger of Simon's material though, and I think that without him, "I am a rock" or "Homeward Bound" or "For Emily" wouldn't be what they are.
It's sad that those elderly gentlemen are still at loggerheads with each other.
