“Love Machine (Part 1)” – The Miracles

[media=https://youtu.be/XypYDKnFdQk]
“Love Machine” is a catchy funk-flavored disco tune recorded by the Miracles in 1975.

The song was written by group members Billy Griffin (who replaced Smokey Robinson as lead singer) and Pete Moore.

It was enormously popular, reaching #1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart in March 1976, and it remained on the charts for more than six months – longer than any other single by the group.

Only one other Miracles’ song (“The Tears of a Clown”) made the top spot on the Hot 100 chart.

“Love Machine” was also the best-selling single of the Miracles’ career, with over 4.5 million copies sold.

Boy, I remember that song ! That and "Do It Baby" were huge post-Smokey hits for the group. Smokey himself had some solo hits around the same time.

@bijouxbroussard They were such a great group, both before Smokey left and afterward. I think Billy Griffin proved himself worthy as Smokey's successor. Other members of the group were pretty fantastic too.
