@DeWayfarer We probably traveled in different circles. Things were still somewhat segregated, at least socially.

@bijouxbroussard well, I do remember some awfully dorky songs at certain times. Stuff like the Hokey Pokey, which I normally sat out.

I was totally glad they didn't do it all that often.

@DeWayfarer “Love Rollercoaster" was often played at the rink where I sometimes went. I was okay, and could stay on my feet, but some people were practically [b]acrobats[/b].

@bijouxbroussard I have no idea about that one either. The rink had a lot of speed skaters. Only beginners had the pick type skates.

Oh ... Roller rink! Not ice rink! 🤣

@bijouxbroussard when I see the word skating I really do think ice skating. It's a bad habit I know, yet it's persisted for decades. The ice rink was only two blocks away from where I lived. The roller rink was clear on the other side of town almost at the neighboring city. I never even went there.

@bijouxbroussard I seen that on ice as well. Not referring to the Olympic type skating. Just regular ice dancing.

@DeWayfarer I have no experience ice skating. But roller skating was popular where I lived. I used to rollerskate on my street as a kid.

@bijouxbroussard best I had was a skate board that I had to make myself. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Broke it not long after I made it. Wasn't any good at making things then.
