I used to do these pretty regularly in ago times. I dunno that I'll keep up with it or ever do it again, but I'm feeling nostalgia on a couple different angles.

I suppose the song itself holds more than a touch of the nostalgia for me. it's also been popping up all over with more connections. it's a pretty interesting back story for how the song came to be.
complete aside and tangent, one of their other kinda famous songs called 'Iris' is named after Iris Dement - a folk and country musician in Nashville, recently I found an iris to shoot images of and it gave me an idea - contact Iris' agent and suggest that for halloween she wear a purple shirt with a yellow scarf and fake facial hair. so she can be a Bearded Iris. I don't think it'll go anywhere, but that'd be kinda awesome if she did that.
