How is it that I never knew that Alan Parsons engineered Dark Side Of The Moon?

How many studio engineers can you name?! It's hard enough to remember who the producers were on alot of hit albums/singles! They are the silent people behind the scenes who contribute to the overall sound, like the arrangers who write the string and brass/woodwind parts that often make a song, but who are uncredited. There's a limit to the amount of info the human brain can store!! 😁

@Strictsir Yeah but my point is that Alan Parsons is a rock star in his own right and therefore I would have thought I would have known by this time in my life that he engineered such an iconic album. Heck, I've been listening to that album sincs I was 13.

@BuzzedLightyear Just another Project for Alan. Floyd were a bit too hippy-trippy/psychadelic for my tastes at that age (my sister had Dark Side) but I enjoy their music alot more these days and it's an iconic album that I must explore. I love Wish You Were Here, and Animals is great as well.

I didn't know that either.

@Nitedoc it's really making me reassess my whole life and I'm wondering how much more there is that i should know but i don't

@BuzzedLightyear I wouldn't worry about it.

@jackson55 I'm watching 'David Gilmour: The Studio Interview 2025' on YouTube and it's just blowing my mind at this man's genius.

@BuzzedLightyear He did a 50 year tribute to the Stratocaster. It’s on YouTube. It was killer.

@jackson55 Oh, I've got to watch that.
