Hang on Sloopy pushed the Beatles Yesterday off the top of the charts in 65. That was a feat even at my young age of 11 revered. I never was a Beatles fan.

@Gibbon I remember listening to that full blast at the age of 13. There was this a little later...

@BuzzedLightyear Johnny Winter was super cool.
BuzzedLightyear · 61-69
@Gibbon yes he was but that's Edgar Winter, brother!

@BuzzedLightyear Wow I never knew that about Frankenstein and the brothers crossover. I just read about that because I always associated Johnny with the song.
I didn't know he had a brother let alone the common involvement with Rick.

@Gibbon yeah, they were both geniuses. Edgar here playing keyboards, percussion, sax...

@BuzzedLightyear Yes I just found this. I was playing drums in the day and have no idea how this got past me. I always thought two drummers was cool in a band but here's Edgar laying it down as one of two.

@MissNen As a drummer back in the day I wasn't staying in touch with who's who and who's doing what except my fascination with Jim Morrison and the doors. I was into the drummers of the day and whatever my band mates wanted to play. Edgar never crossed my radar. The first time I heard Frankenstein I just knew Johnny Winter was playing it. I didn't even know of the Edgar band. I only knew Rick from the. McCoys. And that was much later. Before that I just knew of the McCoys as a band name not the members.

@Gibbon I didn't know Rick played with him on Frankenstein but I'm not surprised either. I was watching a podcast yesterday. Warren Haynes was on and the people he has played with are unreal. I never knew his first band was joining David Allen Coe. That knocked me backwards. He didn't seem to want to talk about that..
