“Good Times Bad Times” is a track on Led Zeppelin’s debut album, Led Zeppelin. The song was released as a single in March 1969 and was the first Zeppelin single released in the US. It did poorly on the charts (except in the Netherlands) and only reached #80 in the US and #64 in Canada.
It’s hard to understand why the recording wasn’t more popular. “Good Times” is a kick-ass song with first-rate musicianship, and it’s a mainstream radio-friendly 2 minutes, 45 seconds long. Seems like it had all the right ingredients to be a hit song.
It’s worth mentioning that Led Zeppelin did do well on the albums charts, making the top 10 or top 20 in at least twelve countries, including the US (#10) and Canada (#11). It has also been included on many “greatest albums” lists, and in 2004, the album was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
