@JackOatMon On YouTube. Both produced by Joe Meek. A very interesting character. On Wikipedia.

You remind me of a prank I once played when I was 14. I called the swimming pool and asked them to page my brother Jack, last name Mehoff. All over the park you could hear "Jack Mehoff. Jack Mehoff to the phone, please." Still proud of that one!

@JackOatMon My favorite was at the bookstore where I worked. The employee in the phone room said, "May I have your attention please. Dr. Heywood Jablome, you have a phone call on line 111. May I have your attention please. Dr. Heywood Ja-blo--oh, shit."

@hunkalove Both courtesy of Joe Meek! Both bands had a few follow-up hits in the UK, but no more No. 1's.

@supersnipe I think those were the only two hits in the U S and A. Brian Epstein offered The Beatles to Joe Meek but he turned them down.

@hunkalove A very good biography, The Legendary Joe Meek, by John Repsch (1989).
