"Black Dog" is the lead-off track on Led Zeppelin's untitled fourth album (commonly known as Led Zeppelin IV). The lusty hard rock classic has been called "one of the most instantly recognisable Zeppelin tracks" and is included on multiple greatest songs-type lists.

It reportedly refers to a nameless black Labrador Retriever that was seen wandering the grounds of the studio where the band worked on the song.
