Marty Balin has always been a favorite vocalist. He could do beautiful melodies and hard driving rock equally with ease.
In the 80s when Starship went all out pop he formed a new band with his former Airplaners called KBC. They only put out one album but I thought it was very good.
I have the album "Balin", the one with "Hearts"on it, and it's quite a good album. I believe there might have been a few coke-fueled weird decisions, but better than a hit plus filler.
@bijouxbroussard There's a few lines(see what I did there?) where he's a little pitchy, dawg. The only song that makes me laugh is the Elvis and Marilyn one. And the one about the underage chick is creepy. But overall, it rocks.
