Me Breakfast Diaries....They're Just A Shot Away
....Or, watching wonderful things. If you love music.....particularly Rock Music, and it's early nexus, you might like this offering that, through pure serendipity in my case, I taped so that I wouldn't miss it. This morning, I woke to a gorgeous early Autumn (yes, I said it...it's arrived here at least)...I threw open the doors and windows to feel and smell the woods floating in to my cathedral ceiling home.....low fog hanging just off the ground.....does and their fawns chewed on the last of the low bush blackberries, and turkey hens with their broods in tow, gleaned my fields as I watched them all from my glass front windows.
Trying not to break the early morning ju, ju, of the two species, I crept out as I always do mornings, and plucked off some cherry tomatoes, jalapenos, and green peppers which, went in to the pan as I made my morning omelet.....flippin' it out on to my plate before pourin' my morning java.....black, glorious....rich perked gold....strong enough to float an iron wedge.
I sat down in total silence, as only someone who lives on the edge of the woods can appreciate, and clicked the "go" button to Epix's offering, "My Life As A Rolling Stone....." It was like a witchy woman had slowly performed oily karma sutra on me as this form of electricity crept out through my core to the ends of my fingers and toes.
That is what good cinema should do to us...particularly rock documentary pieces and, as one who appreciates where early rock emanated from, coupled with those staccato snippets of music and photographs, I thought this one delivered. I'm not ashamed to say as a Beatles man, that......I loved this episode, particularly Keith Richards. And btw.....Merry Clayton......you....are.....over the top woman....totally.
So find it.....watch it if you can. I got 'er on Epix channel.
