Blessed With Being A Child Of The 70's

Indeed I was. Some of my very first memories were, thanks to being born in the UK, listening to Wings....to Queen....to Thin Lizzy...to KISS.....meeting Joe and Steve from Def Leppard when I was just a single-didget misfit and becoming a H-U-G-E fan....

Then of course, we had Fleetwood Mac, Blondie (ok, so a post-punk band but still, to me, a damn good pop/rock band), AC/DC, Rainbow, Whitesnake, Gillan and Black Sabbath...

Later, in my teens, we had Bon Jovi, Dio, Motley Crue, Van Halen (yes, a late starter!), the Dan Reed Network and Enuff Z Nuff....

Great bands, one and all....

Is it me or we don't seem to have the same iconic bands as we did in the 70's and 80's....

Discuss...

@DrawntoaDistance They're still going! They were planning to tour last year...then early this year.....and now planned for next year....

Yes. I know what you mean! I saw them blow Bon Jovi totally away being their support act! A phenomenal live band....and still are!

'Slam' is one of the greatest albums of the 80's !

I remember Kerrang being all over them in the 80s. I think they were way more popular in the UK than anywhere else.

@DrawntoaDistance Indeed! I still remember that they did a stellar version of Randy Newman's 'You Can Leave your Hat On' that didn't really do anything....but, a few months later, Sir Tom came out with pretty much the same bloody arrangement/tempo and had a huge hit!

So annoying!

Yep, in the States they toured with artists like UB40.....in Europe, it was Bon Jovi and The Rolling Stones.....

Bit of a difference...
