I Love Rock Music

There are a few bands I really like, but some you're not likely to have heard of!

There are few of us in the genre that I love...so yes, this generation probably would not know of these groups and the impact they did back in the day and continues to this day...

@caesar7 "Gentle Giant" comes to mind.

@helenS Indeed..one of the few underrated prog bands ever....original, creative and distinct. This was musicianship at its more complex....now those guys were musicians..they worked at their music for long periods of time...not this overnight sensation crap in today's music.

@caesar7 Peter Hammill's "Van der Graaf Generator" is another perfect example.
The good thing is that this excellent music is available on Apple Music today, for anyone to study.

@helenS yes...so many neo-prog bands have taken the reigns on an international scale....long live Prog

@caesar7 Just heard an interesting comment on Twitter the other day...a fan was talking about the Genesis reunion the other day. He said....there are two Genesis...the 80's version and the early 70's version when Gabriel was involved. the seventies version is performed by Steve Hackett nowadays and the trio performing the 80 in the upcoming concerts. I don't care about the latter. I saw Steve perform in London, Ontario and he just blew us away..I will go see him anyday...what brilliance

@caesar7 (whispers... I'm a secret lover of Prog too.) But please don't tell anyone 😁

@helenS I know, we are shunned by others...I know.

@caesar7 I'm usually more of a classical music lover. For whatever reason I have a weak spot for prog.

@helenS I love the classic period also..I think Prog stems from that. I love the Baroque period mostly like Bach., Corelli Vivaldi and so on. These guys are musical Gods...I must agree.
