Well this is odd...

Not been religious for about 20 years but today I have a real hunger for listening to Christian music.
Anybody got a theory about this?

Wesley apparently said that there was no reason why the devil should have the best tunes. So he encouraged Methodists to write and sing rousing hymns.

He and others were so successful that a lot of nominally Christian music is simply (in the best sense) good or even great music regardless of its religious intent.

What Englishman can be unmoved by Hubert Parry's setting of Blake's Jerusalem? I'm as atheist as it is possible to be but it moves me every time.
